Google have held their first Stadia Connect – their cloud-based game streaming service – this evening and revealed plenty of new details for the Stadia – including the release date and price!
The Stadia Founder’s Edition is £119 and includes a Chromecast Ultra and a limited edition Night Blue controller – the bundle also includes 3 months of Stadia Pro, a Founder’s badge, Buddy Pass, and Stadia Name.
Stadia Pro will be £8.99 a month and will allow you to play your games in 4K at 60FPS, ‘regularly released’ free games – kicking off with Destiny 2: The Collection, and Stada discounts on select purchases. Of course, you don’t have to subscribe to Stadia Pro, the free level ‘Stadia Base’ will allow you to play your games in 1080p at 60FPS but you won’t get access to the regular free games of discounts.
Lots of titles have been announced for the Stadia already, including DOOM Eternal, Destiny 2, The Crew 2, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Tomb Raider, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, GRID, Football Manager, Mortal Kombat 11 and a ton more – with some being announced at E3 next week. Google have also said there will be Stadia exclusives available in the future.
You’ll be able to connect to your Stadia games through your TV, laptop, desktops and Pixel 3 phones (but will likely be available on all android phones soon after launch)
What’re your thoughts on Google’s stab at cloud-based game streaming? Could this be a game changer?
