In 2020 we will be celebrating our fifth birthday, a milestone we could not have possibly reached without our incredible team of writers and wonderful contributors over the years who have volunteered their time and talent to write honest and insightful reviews and articles – and not forgetting our amazing partners and friends, and readers who have supported their work. At the time of writing, we have had the absolute honour of publishing the work of over 60 writers.
Whether they write purely as a hobby in their free time, or to grow their writing portfolio for future employment opportunities – we have always been a platform which welcomes writers of any experience to share their thoughts on all things film, television and video games. One of our fundamental commitments here is to support our wonderful team of writers as best we can – after all, without them, we would be nothing.
As our readership continues to steadily grow, we are aiming to be in a position to offer payment for contributions we publish as of 1st January 2020.
Many of you will know we launched our Patreon page a couple of months ago. This allows those of you wanting to support the site a chance to do so on a monthly basis and we have offered up some nice little thank you perks such as shout outs, exclusive access to content, and even some JumpCut goodies.
If you are wanting to support the team but would prefer to make a one-off donation, we also have a Ko-fi page on which you can make a one-time donation (minimum of £3). If you leave your Twitter @ with your donation you will, of course, receive a special thank you shout out from us.
We have set ourselves an initial target to reach £125 a month – this would allow us to pay for a minimum of 2-3 posts a week, to begin with – and whilst we are strong believers in quality over quantity, we would, of course, like to be in a position to offer more paid opportunities in the future.
100% of the money donated through Patreon or Ko-fi will be used to pay our writers and not used for website costs.
Every donation, like, share, shoutout, and retweet really do go a long way to helping us achieve our goals and supporting our writers and we honestly cannot thank you all enough for your continued support.
We are incredibly excited about 2020 and the exciting new opportunities that lie ahead and can’t wait to share it with you all.
