The MCU is set to have things turned up to Eleven with news from Variety that Stranger Things star, Millie Bobby Brown is set to make an appearance in the upcoming movie, The Eternals. The Netflix show’s MVP, MBB will now be joining a cast that so far consists of Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nunjani and Richard Madden. Directorial duties are to be handled by Chloe Zhao with a script from Matthew and Ryan Firpo.
And that’s it.
So far that’s pretty much all we know about the upcoming outer space-based chapter of the MCU that will focus on the titular group of individuals. Based on Jack Kirby’s comic book series of the same name, The Eternals were a particular race of beings that were at odds with a rather nasty bunch of folk known as the Deviants.
Sounding awfully space opera-like, the interesting element to keep in mind is that Thanos was an Eternal along with other locals of his planet, Titan. Could we be seeing a flashback and an appearance from Josh Brolin’s ball-chin-wielding bad guy before Stark gave him the Snap? Dunno. Be nice, though, eh?
Details are expected to come pouring out of Comic-Con this year regarding this top-secret segment of the MCU, which will be part of the studio’s big reveal of Phase 4. No doubt it’ll be sandwiched somewhere in between the Russo Brothers making a return visit to Hall H, following their mild success of Avengers: Endgame, which is now confirmed for July 19. The Eternals, on the other hand, are set to burst onto the scene next year.
