Can director, co-creator and former star of A Quiet Place, John Krasinski make a pitch-perfect follow-up to his horror smash? Fingers crossed and pressed firmly against our lips that he does with the recent reveal that the cameras have started rolling on A Quiet Place Part II.
Whispers from Syracuse.com (as spotted by Coming Soon) confirmed cameras started rolling (as quietly as possible, we’re hoping) in upstate New York, marking the new post-apocalyptic location for our heroes to sneak around in to avoid being torn to shreds. This was backed up by Krasinski’s own Instagram account that had a classic clapboard photo, or ‘clappie’ as they’re known among the cool kids.*
Story details are unknown at the moment but what we do know is that the film will take place after the first film, with Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbott and her kids Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe as Regan and Marcus, living the soundproof life (spoilers) without Krasinski’s father figure to protect them. Joining them this time around are Peaky Blinders front man Cillian Murphy and Widows and Atlanta star Brian Tyree. Bets are both, or at least one of these guys won’t be welcome in the Abbott household for most of the film’s runtime.
The film is set for a release on May 15, 2020, and honestly, it can’t come soon enough.
