De Niro Could Join Scorsese’s Killer of the Flower Moon with DiCaprio
Not content with giving us a union of talent we’ve waiting for years to see again, Deadline have revealed that Robert De Niro is in final talks his bushy browed directing bud Martin Scorsese to get working together again once The Irishman (finally!) arrives. When the dust has settled on their long anticiapted hitman thriller, they could be reuniting along with Leonardo Di Caprio for Killers of the Flower Moon.
Set to go into production mid 2020, the film will be based on the book of the same name from author David Grann, which told the true story of a murderous killing spree that befell the Osage Indian tribe in the 1920s after oil was found on their land. The case was picked up by the FBI who were still just a small organisation at the time but uncovered an even darker secret linked to the deaths.
Should he sign on the dotted line, De Niro will take the role of serial killer William Hale, with Di Caprio hot on his heels as Texas Ranger Tom White.
This will of course also mark a reunion for the actors as well, after DiCaprio’s career began to explode after This Boy’s Life in 1993 and Marvin’s Room in 1996. It’s be amazing to see these two work together after all these years.
Expect to see an update on whether Scorsese gets his man to join Killers of the Flower Moon along with his other go-to-guy soon.
