Variety has exclusively reported that 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg has signed on to direct Sony’s adaptation the ‘Uncharted’ video game franchise. The director’s chair was left vacant after Shawn Levy’s recent departure from the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Tom Holland has been attached to the role of a young Nathan Drake for some time, and with Sony’s Spider-Man: Far From Home releasing in a few months, the hope is that cameras might finally begin rolling on Uncharted before the year is out.

Last year fans of the Uncharted series were treated to something they’d long waited for… to see Nathan Fillion in the role as Nathan Drake! Allan Ungar directed a short film last year that went down an absolute storm with fans of the video games, who have long campaigned for Fillion to play the role of Drake in a feature film.
